Event Description
Unlocking Creativity: Supporting Creativity in Adults and Children
Presented by
Anthony Semann, Kelly Goodsir

Led by Anthony Semann and Kelly Goodsir, this immersive workshop will take participants on a journey to uncover the role of creativity in early childhood education. We will examine how creativity can be embedded in everyday practices - through the arts, intentional teaching and spontaneous moments of discovery. More importantly, we will focus on unlocking creativity in educators themselves. Adults often underestimate their creative capacities, seeing creativity as something outside their expertise. This workshop will challenge that notion and provide meaningful ways for educators to reconnect with their creative selves.
Through hands-on experiences, reflective discussions, and practical strategies, we will explore:
* How creativity enhances learning and engagement for children and educators alike.
* Ways to embed creativity into the everyday, moving beyond structured 'art activities' to a culture of creative thinking.
* The role of environment, materials, and provocations in inspiring creativity.
* Strategies to support teams in fostering a culture that values and nurtures creative practice.
Creativity is not about making art - it's about problem-solving, imagination, and seeing possibilities where others see limitations. Whether you consider yourself creative or not, this session will empower you to bring creativity to life in your work, your team, and the experiences you create for children.
Join us for a day of inspiration, reflection, and creative exploration!
