Giving families and communities a voice

We often 'include' families and communities in our settings. We frequently 'involve' the families and communities. But is this what 'partnerships' with families and communities are really about? A 'partnership' means they have a voice, their opinions and suggestions matter, and most of all, they get to make some of the decisions. Consider that statement — 'they get to make a decision'. When was the last time a family member decided something for you or your team? What was the last idea or new initiative that came from outside the setting? This webinar will examine how we can engage in more meaningful partnerships with all stakeholders. How to open up lines of two-way communication instead of simply sending out daily or weekly update blogs. And how to set up systems that will both engage and inspire others to feel connected to and active participants in the overall quality of the environments, learning and team development.
Completing Giving families and communities a voice may contribute one hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) criteria for Elective PD and addresses:
