A smarter way to support staff induction
Short, practical videos helped one organisation set up their new staff for success.
The brief
A large early childhood organisation asked us to improve their staff induction process. They had new educators joining regularly but struggled to provide consistent, high-quality training during those first critical weeks. The challenge was clear: create something easy to access, practical and reliable.
Our response
We began by identifying what new staff really needed to know. Through workshops and interviews, we mapped out 15 essential areas of practice, including effective supervision, child-safe standards, learning environments and the planning cycle.
Then we developed 15 short videos — each around ten minutes long. These videos were made for busy people. They were clear, focused and grounded in evidence-based practice. Each one came with a takeaway resource to help staff apply what they learned straight away.
The videos could be used on-demand, as part of structured induction, or revisited later for refreshers.
The outcome
The videos became part of an induction library used across the entire organisation. Every new staff member now starts with the same strong foundation. Leaders don’t have to repeat the same information over and over. And educators feel more confident walking into their new roles.
The client now has an induction process that is consistent, flexible and built to grow with them.
